Ashkelon Properties specializes in rentals for the English-speaking market in Ashkelon. Many English speakers choose to live in the Afridar and Marina areas, where rentals are hard to find. We act as the middlemen between renters and apartment owners and introduce you to each other.
We do the legwork and save you the hassles of advertising, showing the apartment and screening the prospective tenant. Quite often, prospective tenants are late or do not show up at all for showings. If a contract is signed for the apartment, we will invoice you for one month’s rent plus VAT.
Who is Ashkelon Rentals?
Ashkelon Rentals is affiliated with David Zwebner of Ashkelon Properties, a division of Infosat Financial Services Ltd. David started his real estate career with Anglo Saxon Real Estate, where he worked from 1971 to 1973. Ashkelon Properties was founded to answer the need for an English-speaking real estate company in the Ashkelon area. David has represented hundreds of satisfied buyers and sellers and is known in Ashkelon as the “go-to person for buyers and sellers. His dedication for the city lead him to write, The Founding of Modern Ashkelon and as a registered tour guide, understands and teaches others about the history of the city and the Ashkelon National Park.
With the tremendous growth of Ashkelon over the last 10 years, many English speakers have found their way to the city in search of rentals. With so many people looking to locate in the desirable Afridar and Marina areas, rentals quite often go through complicated Hebrew website, complete with phishing and outdated ads. We decided to build a clearing house of rentals so that owners and renters.
In addition to rent, what are my financial obligations?
In Israel, tenants assume responsibility for rental units. Expect to pay for municipal taxes (arnona), vaad bayit (condo fee), electricity, water, gas (if the apartment has a connection), telephone (if you want a land line), and internet etc.
When the contract is signed, you will need to switch over the various accounts to your name. This is usually done over the internet, using photos of the different meters.
Can I sign a long term lease?
Many tenants and owners want long term leases. You can specify that it is your preference and if we will try and find a tenant or owner who is interested in a long term lease. These leases usually have an automatic increase built in to the pricing.
